Blockshot is a browser-based previsualization tool for planning shots before generating AI video. It turns a written scene description into a simple 3D blockout using placeholder shapes, animated objects, and a virtual camera. Users can adjust scene elements, timing, camera position, framing, and movement directly in the viewport and timeline. The tool supports named camera moves, multiple cameras covering the same action, separate action and edit timelines, and second-by-second camera timing. Each shot can be exported as an MP4 reference clip, along with a prompt based on the actual framing, camera settings, and motion. Blockshot also provides conditioning passes such as colour, depth, normals, and line art for structure-conditioned models. The tool is designed for AI video workflows where text alone does not precisely communicate camera direction, spatial relationships, or shot timing.
