A full wardrobe, but nothing to wear
Most people know the feeling.
You open your wardrobe in the morning. It is full of clothes. You move a few shirts around, look at a pair of jeans, consider something you haven't worn for months, and eventually choose one of the same outfits you wear every week.
The problem isn't necessarily that we don't own enough clothes.
Sometimes, we simply don't remember everything we already have.
That simple observation is at the heart of Closyne, a new digital wardrobe application designed to help people rediscover their clothes, create outfits, find inspiration and connect around fashion.
Closyne is now live, with a web experience and an Android application available through Google Play.
But Closyne isn't an online fashion store, and it isn't trying to become another Vinted or Instagram.
The idea starts somewhere much more personal:
your own wardrobe.
Your physical wardrobe, inside your phone
The first step with Closyne is creating your digital wardrobe.
Users can add their clothes and describe them using information such as their type, category, color, season and style.
Over time, the application becomes a digital representation of the clothes you actually own.
This sounds simple, but it changes the way you interact with your wardrobe.
A sweater hidden behind other clothes doesn't disappear from your memory. That jacket you bought two years ago can become part of an outfit again. Clothes you rarely wear become visible instead of remaining forgotten at the back of a drawer.
The objective isn't to turn your wardrobe into a complicated inventory management system.
Closyne isn't designed to make you spend your evenings cataloguing possessions.
The digital wardrobe exists for one reason:
to make your real wardrobe more useful.
"What should I wear today?"
This is where Closyne goes beyond simply storing information about clothes.
Once your wardrobe exists digitally, the application can help you decide what to wear using the clothes you already own.
Your choice of outfit can depend on many things.
What's the weather like?
Is it hot or cold?
What season is it?
Do you want something casual, classic, streetwear, sportswear or something more appropriate for an evening out?
Closyne uses this context together with the contents of your wardrobe to help create outfit suggestions.
The important part is where the process begins.
Most fashion platforms start with products you don't own.
They show you something attractive and then provide a button to buy it.
Closyne starts with what is already hanging in your wardrobe.
Before asking, "What could I buy?", we think there is value in asking another question:
"What could I do with what I already have?"
That philosophy is central to the product.
Fashion without constantly buying more
Fashion technology is often closely connected to ecommerce.
Recommendations frequently exist to generate another transaction. Inspiration becomes another route toward a checkout page.
Closyne takes a different approach.
It doesn't mean people should stop buying clothes or stop enjoying fashion. Fashion is about creativity, identity, experimentation and pleasure.
But enjoying fashion doesn't necessarily mean constantly increasing the size of your wardrobe.
Sometimes the best new outfit is a combination of clothes you've owned for years but never thought about wearing together.
Sometimes seeing an old garment again is enough to remember why you bought it.
And sometimes understanding what you never wear can help you make better choices in the future.
Closyne is designed to make those moments easier.
Social Place: fashion is also about sharing ideas
A wardrobe is personal, but fashion has always been social.
We look at what other people wear. We exchange ideas. Trends appear, disappear and return. Friends inspire each other. Different generations and cultures reinterpret the same clothes in completely different ways.
That's why Closyne also includes Social Place.
Social Place allows members to publish content, share their style, discover other people and find inspiration within the community.
But the ambition isn't to recreate Instagram inside a wardrobe application.
Closyne isn't designed around encouraging people to chase likes or turn every outfit into a performance.
We want Social Place to focus on the thing that brought people there in the first place:
fashion and personal style.
It should be possible to discover an interesting outfit because someone has a completely different way of combining clothes, not simply because an algorithm decided that person already has millions of followers.
As Closyne grows internationally, this also creates an interesting opportunity to discover styles and ideas from different places and communities.
And when you really don't wear something anymore?
Rediscovering your wardrobe won't magically make every garment useful again.
There will always be clothes that no longer fit, no longer match your style or simply haven't been worn for years.
That's why Closyne includes Market.
But this distinction is important:
Closyne is not another Vinted.
We aren't trying to build another centralized second-hand marketplace.
Closyne doesn't take a commission on transactions between members. It doesn't manage shipping, and it doesn't position itself as an intermediary controlling the transaction.
Market provides a space where members can connect and negotiate directly with each other.
The purpose is complementary to the wardrobe.
First, Closyne helps you understand and use what you own.
Then, if something genuinely no longer belongs in your wardrobe, the community can provide an opportunity to give it another life.
Digital Wardrobe + Inspiration + Community
These different features form the broader vision behind Closyne.
The Digital Wardrobe provides the foundation.
Outfit suggestions help users make more use of their clothes.
Social Place brings inspiration and community into the experience.
Market provides a way to connect when clothes are ready to move to someone else's wardrobe.
Rather than building several disconnected applications, Closyne brings these experiences together around a single idea:
your relationship with the clothes you already own.
A multilingual product from the beginning
Closyne isn't intended to remain limited to one country.
The application and website currently support four languages:
English, French, German and Spanish.
Closyne automatically adapts to the language of the user's device or browser while also allowing users to manually choose their preferred language.
Building this international foundation early was important.
Fashion is global, but style is incredibly local and personal.
A community becomes much more interesting when different cultures, climates and fashion habits can meet.
Someone living in Berlin doesn't necessarily dress like someone in Barcelona. Seasonal needs aren't the same everywhere. Trends aren't interpreted identically across countries.
In the long term, those differences can become part of what makes the Closyne community interesting.
Most of Closyne is free — and will remain free
Closyne uses a freemium model.
However, there is an important principle behind it:
around 90% of Closyne is free, and the intention is for it to remain free.
The objective isn't to attract users with a free application and progressively move every useful feature behind a paywall.
The core Closyne experience needs a community to be valuable.
People need to be able to create their wardrobe, interact with the product and participate without feeling that every action requires another payment.
Standard and Premium subscriptions exist for users who want additional capabilities and fewer limitations.
But subscriptions support the product; they aren't intended to replace the free experience.
A special offer for the first Closyne users
Launching a new application requires something more valuable than downloads:
feedback.
A download counter doesn't explain why someone stopped using an application.
It doesn't tell you which feature was confusing.
It doesn't tell you which feature people unexpectedly love.
And it certainly doesn't tell you what users expected to find but couldn't.
That's why Closyne is offering a special launch promotion to its first users.
The first 100 registered users can receive one year of Closyne Premium free of charge, representing €99.90 of Premium access.
The first places have already been claimed, so availability is limited.
The purpose of this offer isn't simply promotion.
Early users are the people who will help shape what Closyne becomes next.
We want real feedback:
What do you use?
What don't you use?
What feels complicated?
What should disappear?
What is missing?
What would make you open Closyne tomorrow morning when you're standing in front of your wardrobe?
Those answers are far more useful than assumptions made during development.
What's next?
Closyne is already functional, but the current release isn't intended to represent the final form of the product.
There are many directions the concept can evolve.
One particularly exciting possibility is virtual try-on.
Today, Closyne can help suggest clothes from your wardrobe.
Tomorrow, imagine asking your assistant:
"What should I wear today?"
Closyne could consider the season, temperature, weather, desired style and your wardrobe, generate a combination and then visually show you what that outfit could look like on you.
Instead of browsing through generic models wearing clothes you don't own, you could visualize combinations created from your own wardrobe.
That's a much larger technical challenge, but it fits naturally into the philosophy behind the application.
The goal isn't AI for the sake of adding "AI" to a feature list.
Technology should solve a real problem.
If virtual try-on can remove uncertainty and help someone rediscover a combination they wouldn't otherwise have considered, then it becomes useful.
Building Closyne with its users
Closyne has reached an important milestone.
It has moved from an idea to a working product, from development environments to production, and from a prototype to an application people can actually install and use.
But launching isn't the finish line.
It's where the assumptions finally meet reality.
The next version of Closyne will be influenced by the people using this one.
Some features will become more important.
Others may prove unnecessary.
New ideas will emerge from use cases we didn't anticipate.
That's part of building a product.
Closyne doesn't need to become another giant social network, another ecommerce platform or another place designed to make people consume more.
There is already a simpler ambition worth pursuing:
help people enjoy their wardrobe again.
Remember the clothes they forgot.
Try combinations they hadn't considered.
Find inspiration from other people.
Share their own vision of fashion.
And when a garment really doesn't have a place anymore, help it find someone else.
Your wardrobe is already full of possibilities.
Closyne simply helps you see them.
