The Kingdom of English is a browser-based ESL and EFL practice platform created by teacher David Satler for teachers, students, and individual learners. The site focuses on structured English practice beyond the coursebook, combining grammar, reading, listening, writing, and vocabulary work in one place. Teachers can create and manage classes, assign specific exercises, and track completion and performance for up to 60 students per account. Learners get access to 60 grammar topics, 60 reading exercises, and 60 listening exercises, plus writing tasks with AI feedback. The platform also uses AI to evaluate open-ended answers in reading and listening, and includes gamified elements such as points, leaderboards, streaks, coins, rewards, and language games. It is positioned as a classroom-informed alternative to generic language apps, with browser access, no app download, and plans for both teachers and individual users.
Coursebooks and generic apps give too little targeted practice and weak homework tracking.
