What is SponsorCal?
SponsorCal is booking and payment infrastructure for newsletter sponsorships. It lets newsletter creators publish a booking page where sponsors can select an issue date and sponsorship option, then pay upfront and submit required ad assets through a guided form without creating an account. The system enforces slot capacity to prevent overbooking, sends automated reminder emails before asset deadlines, and alerts creators when materials are overdue. Creators review and approve bookings, and payouts are handled via Stripe Connect with funds going directly to the creator. After a sponsorship is marked as published, payouts are released on a set timeline, with disputes able to pause payout while active. The product positions itself as not being a marketplace: creators bring their own sponsors, set rates, and maintain control over approvals and relationships.
