About
ScrollDog is a browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium browsers, including Edge, Brave, Arc and Vivaldi. It puts an animated dog on the page that moves in step with scrolling. At the top of a page the dog stands at the left edge; at the bottom it has reached the other side, so its position reports how far through the page the reader is. The animation is driven by scroll velocity rather than a fixed loop, so the gait follows how fast the page moves. Optional behaviours extend this: the dog sits when scrolling stops, dances when clicked, and sleeps after two minutes without activity. The free version includes the dog and all of its behaviours. A one-time payment of $4, with no subscription, unlocks four more characters: a cat, a duck, a unicorn and a cockroach. The extension needs no account and does not record scrolling data, and it verifies purchases offline with signed tokens.
