What is MemoryLane?

MemoryLane is a Mac app that records your screen to build a searchable timeline of what you do on your computer, then uses that observed behavior to generate ready-to-use automation skills. It connects to Claude Desktop through an MCP server, letting you run pre-built skills and create working automations with a single command instead of writing prompts or setting up complex workflows. The product offers options for how your screen data is processed: a managed cloud key, bringing your own API key, or running fully local AI. Screenshots are analyzed and then deleted, with only a text summary stored locally on the device. A free, open-source tier includes the timeline, MCP server, CLI skills, and integrations, while a paid tier adds done-for-you setup, custom automation skills, and enterprise support options.
