What is DocCompass?
DocCompass is a Chrome extension for navigating developer documentation with AI. Instead of manually searching and jumping between pages, you describe what you are trying to build or learn in natural language. The tool returns structured results that point to the most relevant documentation sections, along with AI-provided answers, starting points, supporting resources, and suggested next steps. When you open a documentation page, DocCompass can highlight relevant parts and provide an “Explain This Page” view that summarizes the page and explains how it relates to your goal. It also stores search history locally in the browser with timestamps and domain context, lets you bookmark pages into an organized library, and can export results and explanations as clean Markdown for notes or sharing.
